Johnny will be out for the Steel Challenge this week from 8/19 – 8/22. Julian will be running the shop those days so please feel free to call or email and he’ll do his best to assist you.

Good luck to Team Limcat and all the shooters participating in the Steel Challenge this week! Make sure to check out Johnny’s prototype gun. Just watch out when he’s shooting — the brass ejects to around 15-20 ft away.

Team Limcat is back from Idaho after shooting Area 1. Congratulations to James Ong, Area 1 Champion. Great match. Great stages. Great people and the most friendly staff. Thank you for the funnest match I’ve been to in a long time.

This new innovation is available as both a limited, modified, standard and open gun. And available in 9mm, 9×21, .38 Super, .357sig, .40 S&W, 10mm,and .45acp. The Limcat Turbo Comp – Exposed

There has been a lot of interest in the new Turbocomp that comes standard on the 2009 Dragoncat open gun. It is without a doubt the flattest shooting gun we’ve ever produced. The fact, is the original “Turbo Undergas Bypass System” was designed by Johnny over 10 years ago, and has been sitting on the backburner until this year when he perfected its design. The rest of this post is designed to show you how it works and what the purpose of each part of the comp is.

We will start off at the back of the comp and move our way forward. The 6 V-ports ( or holes) on the barrel (V-6) are angled to control the swirling of the gun. The 4 expansion chambers or main ports are designed to control the recoil and tame the gun ( makes the gun shoot softer) and the 4 holes in the front sides are actually the exhaust ports for the turbo undergas bypass system. which keeps the muzzle flip down..

How the turbo system works is that the first expansion chamber has a gas tunnel entry port that links to a gas tube that runs underneath the comp bypassing all 3 expansion chambers. The gas flows down into the entry port and through the gas tube and then comes out as a jet thru the 4 holes in the side front of the compensator.

The 1/8 extension lip around the exit hole on the very front of the comp is for Johnny to be able to visibly check the concentricity of the holes thru the barrel using a concentric barrel comp tool. The concentricity of the barrel and comp plays a big part in the accuracy of your gun.

Moving back from the comp to the slide to look at the new L-Cut slide and comp integration that is designed to give you a shorty fast cycling gun without the kick like a mule feeling as well as providing more barrel thread length which will guarantee that your compensator will stay put and never come loose or turn on you even if you shoot it as hot as hell. The new design allows for over 1-1/4″ length of thread.

That in a expanded nut shell is exactly how the new Turbocomp works and why the 2009 Dragoncat is the softest shooting gun you will ever find.

Note: For those of you curious about how this comp would chrono – As tested and chronoed this system only drops 20ft per second against a non hybrid, no holes, 3 port comp. This 9mm gun chronoed 169 PF using Montana gold 124 JHP bullets, 7.8 grains of Ramshot Silhouette, Small rifle primers, and a OAL of 1.170.
